Shigemi Kawahara founded Ippudo in Fukuoka in 1985 and changed what the world thought ramen could be. He took a beloved Japanese staple and turned it into a global phenomenon. For one day only — lunch and dinner — Kawahara-san comes to Bentoville. He will be in the room, speaking with guests, and serving a bowl of ramen that exists nowhere else: a rich double broth of pork and chicken, made exclusively for this occasion, topped with chashu, tofu, and wood ear mushrooms.
