Rising culinary star Chef Masako Morishita teamed up with acclaimed Chefs Shinichiro Takagi and Billy Kong to present a menu alive with inventive twists on Japanese classics.
Highlights included Chef Masako’s rich wagyu steak with robust romesco sauce, Chef Shin’s vibrant chirashi bowl featuring fresh fish atop premium sumeshi (sushi rice), and Chef Billy’s crisp, umami-rich black cod. Together, they crafted a journey through the diverse artistry of Japanese cuisine.

Chef Morishita, who brings a bold reinterpretation of intimate Japanese cuisine to the restaurant, has garnered acclaim for her dishes — impressing both diners and critics alike. In 2023, she was named Eater DC’s Chef of the Year, and her work at Perry's earned her the prestigious James Beard Award for Best Emerging Chef in 2024.
Chefs Shinichiro Takagi and Billy Kong lead Bentoville’s culinary team, crafting exceptional cuisine that merges traditional and modern techniques. Chef Takagi transformed his family restaurant, Zeniya, into a two-Michelin-star destination, while Chef Kong has launched several acclaimed restaurants in San Francisco, including the Michelin-starred Kinjo.
